Protecting Our Seniors

No one should enter retirement worrying if the programs they’ve been paying into their entire working career will keep their promises.

The preservation of Medicare is extremely important to our seniors. We have a responsibility to take care of our neighbors who have spent their lives contributing to that system and now want to reap the benefits. If elected, I will protect Medicare and work to lower the cost of prescription drugs that our seniors need to maintain a high quality-of-life.

There are other programs, such as Meals on Wheels and the Low-Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP), that provide a helping hand to our aging population. It’s completely unacceptable to allow our seniors to go cold or hungry, and I will fight for adequate funding for these programs as your representative in Congress.
